Thomasville, Georgia Plantation Sells for $2.75 million

Thomasville, Georgia – October 9, 2009 – J. P. King Auction Company, the nation’s leading real estate auction company specializing in high-value properties, sold the historic Coalson Plantation in Thomasville, Ga., for $2.75 million on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009.

The auction took place on site, which included live music and hors d’oeuvres. Bidders came from Georgia, Florida and Ohio. The winning bidder, from Florida, intends to use the property as a rehabilitation center.

“Today was a great sale. Through our proven national marketing program, we were able to produce a successful auction for our seller,” said Craig King, president & CEO of J. P. King Auction Company. “The Coalson Plantation has a wonderful historical past and the new owner has the opportunity to explore the various properties including the many modern amenities that come with it.”

The historic mansion is located on 37+/- acres and was originally constructed in the 1800’s. The property features all of the luxury amenities of an elite resort including a fitness center, pool house, Showboat Theater, six brick cottages, honeymoon suite, equestrian facility, tennis court, private gardens and a commercial kitchen. The plantation sold fully furnished including maintenance and workout equipment.
