Scott King to head sales efforts for J. P. King Auction Company
J. P. King Auction Company, Gadsden, Ala., has announced the appointment of auction veteran and industry pioneer Scott King, CAI, AARE, as the company’s executive vice president of sales.
King will be responsible for directing the expansion of the company’s North American sales force, with a focus on recruiting and training, as well as ongoing service to clients.
In the past 25 years, King has been at the forefront of virtually every major innovation in the industry. He began his career working with developers of high-rise condominiums and Planned Unit Developments in Florida’s coastal areas. In that role, he was responsible for a single auction of condominium units that was J. P. King’s largest one-day sale up to that date.
In the late 1980s, he won the coveted Vanguard Award for his work in identifying the opportunities presented by overbuilt conditions in New England and throughout the Northeast. Recent successes have included the sale a $10.7 million mansion on Lake Tahoe, the $15.6 million sale of Stillwaters Resort on Alabama’s Lake Martin, the sale of basketball superstar Karl Malone’s mansion in Salt Lake City, and the sale of retired Red Sox infielder John Valentin’s mansion in New Jersey.
