Equestrian estate sells for $1,265,000 in J.P. King auction

OLYMPIA, WASH. (June 27, 2006) -- A 16-acre equestrian estate in Tenino, Wash., south of Tacoma, sold at auction for $1,265,000 Tuesday, with J.P. King Auction Company managing the sale.

The auction attracted 15 registered bidders from Washington, Oregon, Texas and California. Purchasing the home was William Viert, a retired attorney from Spanaway, Wash.

Previously home to Ashanti Farms, a Dressage training center, the property has a four-bedroom home, two barns with a total of 10 stalls, a large indoor arena, and 12 acres of fenced pasture.

“There is a strong demand for estates where people have enough room to own and ride horses, and this property is perfectly set up for that,” said King.
