'Gold Dredge King' Revett's historic mansion sells for $1.54 million at auction

BRECKENRIDGE, COLO. – The historic home built by “Gold Dredge King” Ben Stanley Revett more than a century ago sold at auction for $1.54 million Tuesday, with J.P. King Auction Company managing the sale.

Purchasing the home was Randall Rost, of Dallas, Texas. Rost said he and his wife intend to use the home as a primary residence.

The home was celebrated as “one of Colorado’s 50 most famous homes” in Sandra Dallas’s book, “Gaslights and Gingerbread.” Set on 14 acres adjoining the White River National Forest, it retains such historic touches as a crystal chandelier dating to 1878, when it hung in Denver’s famous Bauers Restaurant
