Spectacular 220+/- Acre Ranch in Northern California.

This beautiful high desert ranch has approximately 180 irrigated acres (60 hay; 120 pasture w/6 ft. game fencing) and 40 acres dry farming. Previously operated as a bison ranch and used for growing various types of hay including the rare and desirable perennial Montana Meadow Brome hay.
This scenic property is organic-certification ready and has been operated under a no till, drill seeder planting method since 2005. It offers excellent irrigation and unlimited water supplied from the state’s 2nd best aquifer as well as a newly rebuilt 900 gpm agricultural well.

This ranch would be an ideal location for hay, crops, cattle farm, equestrian ranch or a private location to build a retreat to escape the hustle of the city. Only 1.5 hours from Reno and 15 minutes to nearby town. A picturesque 2,100 sq ft, 3 bed, 2.5 bath log home with wrap around porch built in 2012 provides the perfect space to escape after a long day on the property. Also located on the property for additional space and convenience is a bunkhouse and storage outbuildings.

Less that 2 hours of Reno and just north or Honey Lake, Heritage Ranch is 12 miles from Susanville. Heritage Ranch was previously run as a bison ranch.

History of Heritage Ranch:

A family cornerstone to Lindner Bison and Heritage Ranch is the legacy left by the owner's great-grandmother, Margaret Carlston.

Saving money from a boarding house she operated at the Jay Gould Mining Camp near Helena, Montana, Mrs. Carlston invested in Montana ranchland. After driving 500 head of cattle across hundreds of miles of open rangeland to just outside of  of Livingston, Montana, she became known as the Cattle Queen of Montana®, a title well earned in a rugged frontier. Though she lost nearly everything during the Great Depression, she fought back and managed to hang onto the ranch.

This inspired the current owner to leave the corporate world and create this beautiful Califonia masterpeice known as Heritage Ranch.
