Sold for $2.9 million. With some of the finest craftsmanship to be found anywhere, this newly built mansion on the Gulf of Mexico was built in a Palladian style reminiscent of 18th century homes in Southern France and the French West Indies. Designed by noted architect Barry Fox, the home included such features as imported slate roofing from China, marble from Italy and a 3,237-square-foot pool house with a retractable roof. The sale was reportedly the largest residential transaction ever on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
